A special TV play based on our Liberation War was telecast on Channel i recently. Eminent writer Rabeya Khatun has penned the story of the play. Gazi Rakayet has directed the play and he is also the scriptwriter. Veteran actress Ferdousi Majumder plays the lead role.The story hinges around an aging village woman named Sakhina, who fought against the Pakistanis in the Liberation War. The nine months of war hit her very hard as she loses her husband. Later, Chuni, the local collaborator of Pakistani Army, physically assaults her and drags her to entertain the Pakistan Army officers. Sakhina can never forget the terrible night and barbarism of the local commander. At present she works in a hospital as a nurse. One day she discovers a patient who is known as the popular leader Khale-quzzaman Chuni Mia. She recognises him instantly as he was the culprit and collaborator of the Pakistani Army. Thus the story advances.
