BBC Sanglap is one of the popular programmes in Channel i. It is a talk show with a four member panel discussing major current issues with an invited audience of around 150 members of the public. The selection of the audience is done by inviting the listeners to register their interest in attending the Sanglaps through announcements in all BBC Bengali programmes. In addition invitations are sent to various Radio Listener's Clubs whose members are generally young, with diverse political views and affiliations.The programme provides a good platform, where members of the public can discuss major socio-political issues with leaders of various political parties and members of the civil society. The new series of Sanglaps are divided into two parts - the first running from September to mid October, and the second running from November to the end of December.The programme provides the viewers a deep insight into major social and political issues prevailing in the society. The programme is being telecasted on Mondays and repeat telecast on following Sundays.
