'Jibon Jekhaney Jamon' on Channel i

Tarana Halim, a busy actor and lawyer, is currently hosting a fortnightly show on Channel i, titled Jibon Jekhaney Jamon. The focus in Jibon, is on a gamut of social issues ranging from children's rights, women's rights, domestic violence, prostitution and more. The programme often features live footage.

Earlier episode featured the plight of underprivileged children, often driven in the wrong direction by terrorists, drug dealers and pickpockets. In her programme she does not cast the blame on the children, but on the people who are using them for nefarious activities."The aim of the programme is to let such criminals know that they will be exposed," says Tarana. Tarana has bagged acclaim for Jibon... both within the country and overseas. Two national awards that have come her way are from BACHSAS and Tenashinas. In the international arena, she has won an award from the London Documentary Forum.

Next on the horizon is an episode on child abuse. Being a hush hush subject which needs to be taken out of the closet, the episode will be challenging. "The need of the hour is to sensitise children and guardians on this issue. We must be more progressive and frank on this subject otherwise children will continue to be abused while the offenders will try to conceal such heinous acts," asserts Tarana.

'Jibon Jekhaney Jamon' is conceptualised and directed by Tarana Halim.

The programme will be aired at 9.20 pm on two Sundays a month.

The 18th episode of the talk show, "Rupantorer Golpo" will be aired today at 6:00pm on Channel i. The show gives fans an opportunity to better understand their favourite artists from the showbiz and cultural arena. Film actress Poppy and showbiz journalist Saikat Salahuddin are the guests of tonight's episode. The episode of the show highlights achievements of the actress and the journalist.

Talk Show highlighting women's views on politics on Channel i

Highlighting the upcoming general election an 18-episode talk show planned by eminent cultural activist Sara Zaker titled GrammenPhone Nari O Rajniti was telecast on Channel i. The talk show features renowned personalities from different fields including culture, healthcare, legal system, education and media.

In the course of the programme, the female participants from different professions will share their experiences related to the country's constitution, national women development policies, politics, law and order situation and other important issues.

The show featured Professor Meghna Guhathakurta, advocate Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Dr Nazmun Nahar, anthropologist Rehnuma Ahmed, editor of Ananya Tasmima Hossain, Selina Hossain, Lubna Mariam and others.

'Shundoritoma' -Drama on Channel i

Shundoritoma will be aired tonight on Channel i . The play features the rocky relationship between two university students,Toma and Mehbub.Toma's mother died when she was a young girl and was raised by her father. The brilliant and upright Mehbub is a little senior to Toma. He falls for her at first sight but she remains unaware of this. Eventually Toma does learn the truth. From here the play begins to unravel.

The play is adapted by Al Mamun and written and directed by Raju Alim. Subhash Dutta, Hillol, Tinni, Raju Alim and Trishika play the lead roles in Shundori-toma.
